Vehicle Details
I am offering for sale my 1947 Hudson 2 door sedan that has been my pride and joy and daily driver since restoration was mostly completed in 2008.Last winter I replaced the front bench upholstery with new material that I bought extra of when the upholstery was first done 15 years ago.. I still have a few yards of the gray/burgundy pinstripe mohair I bought from Stitts Upholstery. I also installed a Vintage Air Stage 2 A/C unit last winter, as well as a new Edelbrock 600 cfm carb and new aluminum manifold. The windshield wipers are still vacuum, and don’t work very well. An electric conversion costs around $250. There is lots of wiper motor access behind the radio grill. The car is in Boise, Idaho where it doesn’t rain much. The car is made up of donor parts from 4 similar sedans that were parted out to get one awesome totally rust free car. The engine and transmission were donors from a late 80’s Suburban. The engine is a Chevy Goodwrench stock engine. The Ford 9″ rear came from a 80″s Mercury Grand Marquis. It is a posi-trac rear that was shortened (new Dutchman axles) to fit. The 9″ gears are 3.5, which is a pretty good all around gearing. A Painless wiring harness was installed during the rebuild, along with new gauges. The front end is a Fatman Mustang 2 power steering and disc brake add on. The car steers, drives, and stops great. The stock 350 Chevy is plenty adequate for around town and reasonable freeway driving. I always thought I might upgrade to a 383 Stroker or similar engine. I am presently restoring a Mercury Woodie, so guess where the Hudson sale proceeds will go!I installed a casette tape deck/radio. I will include some casettes of your choice with sale. The car starts right up, and drives great. The tires only have a few thousand miles on them, and the alignment was just checked and fine tuned.I would encourage a personal inspection and test drive of this sweet post war beauty. I have a lift in my garage, and would be happy to raise the car up for inspection.I will help with shipping. Please E mail with questions.
